Questions

Frequently asked questions

The redesigned site now answers the product questions the old version skipped: identity, transport, backups, calls, and recovery.

Do I need a phone number to use ZeeMSG?

No. ZeeMSG is built around in-app identity and invite or QR based contact sharing.

Can the relay read my messages?

No. Message content is end-to-end encrypted. The relay can still see the metadata required to route traffic.

How do I add someone?

Share an invite link, show your QR code, scan theirs, or paste the invite directly in the app.

Does ZeeMSG support voice and video calling?

Yes. The iOS app in this repo includes a dedicated calls tab, call history, and call verification-aware flows.

Can I send media and voice notes?

Yes. ZeeMSG supports photos, videos, files, media previews, and voice-note recording and playback.

Can I lock the app?

Yes. ZeeMSG includes privacy lock, PIN lock, lock timeout, and storage-mode options.

Can I back up my account?

You can export and import encrypted backups of the local database and key using a password-protected workflow.

What network privacy controls exist?

ZeeMSG supports direct or Tor mode, relay settings, diagnostics, and TURN configuration for calling.

Is iOS available?

The codebase contains a full iOS app, but no public App Store or TestFlight URL was found locally. This site is now ready for that link when you provide it.

How do I report a security concern?

Email [email protected] with the details, affected version, and reproduction steps if you have them.
